2019 Nissan Maxima Power & Handling

Under the hood of the Nissan Maxima is a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine. The V6 pumps out 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque for a quick yet smooth ride. A continuously variable transmission comes paired with the V6 engine. Unlike most high powered front-wheel drive vehicles the Maxima doesn't suffer from aggressive torque steer.

2019 Toyota Avalon Power & Handling

The Toyota Avalon comes equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine. The engine produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Each version of the Avalon comes mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is the sole drivetrain available.

Nissan offers the 2019 Maxima in five different trim levels. The base S navigation, an 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, keyless entry, and an eight-speaker sound system. 2019 Toyota Avalon Features & Design

The Toyota Avalon is only available in four different trim levels the XLE, Limited, XSE, and Touring. The base XLE model comes with 60/40-split folding rear seats, Bluetooth, and an eight-speaker sound system. The Limited model adds a sunroof, navigation, and leather upholstery. The XSE skips out on the Limited features and adds to the base models equipment list with paddle shifters, a rear spoiler, and augmented engine intake noises. Finally, the Touring model comes with an adaptive suspension and active noise cancellation.

Conclusions

We're going to have to hand this one over to the 2019 Nissan Maxima. Each of the Maxima's five trim levels come extremely well equipped. We especially love the panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, and the Bose premium sound system.
