History of the Nissan EV
The history of the Nissan EV can be traced back to 1947, when the TAMA was developed. It was Nissan's first-ever EV and was followed by a compact four-door sedan two years later. Even back then, Nissan knew it had something special with electric vehicles, and they have never looked back. Next up was the Prairie Joy EV, which was the first electric car to use lithium-ion batteries. The battery was tested in harsh polar conditions and proved itself in six years while never breaking down. The EV was silent and emission-free, allowing researchers to get closer to wildlife for observation. Following a few years of innovation, drivers got a chance to take get behind the wheel of the ultra-compact and incredibly impressive Hypermini. This was released in 2000; this was a fun commuter-for-two that came with a top speed of 100 kph and could go 115 km on a single charge. Then it was time for the LEAFt to thrill the world! The LEAF was released in 2010 and was the first mass-market, mass-produced electric vehicle. LEAF drivers have traveled over 8 billion EV miles globally, with over half a billion LEAF vehicles sold worldwide. Last but not least, we have the LEAF Sleek, released in 2018, which is more powerful and more awesome than ever and sets the standard by which all other EV vehicles are judged.

Leading the Raceway
From the LEAF to the Formula E and all of the electric miles in between, Nissan is one of the only automakers to enter the cutting-edge Formula E series. This delivers a new kind of racing for a new world of technology. In addition, Formula E represents Nissan's opportunity to demonstrate its 100% all-electric power performance side of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which is the automaker's forward-thinking vision for changing how vehicles are powered and driven. These vehicles are also integrated into society as only Nissan can.
Benefits of Nissan Electric Vehicle
When you think about performance, quietness, reduced maintenance, and other incentives, you think about electric vehicles. The benefits start to stack up with things like a smooth, responsive drive which is driven by electric motors that deliver 100% smooth responsive power every time you press down on the accelerator. You will also not get as much maintenance, and you won't ever have to stop for gas again, so that you can imagine the savings. Even your brake pads will get a break as electric cars use the motor to slow down, which reduces wear. Finally, we have to talk about zero tailpipe emissions due to electric vehicles having no gas engines. That means they will burn no gas and, because of this, produce zero tailpipe emissions.
