What powers the Nissan Altima?
There are a couple of engine options available for the Nissan Altima, and both of them deliver an astonishing amount of horsepower and torque. The standard option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pumps out a solid 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Power is sent to the front wheels, though an all-wheel-drive system is available for the SV, SR, and SL. For an even more powerful performance, the Altima offers you a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 236 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque or 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane gas. This engine is available for the SR trim and comes exclusively with front-wheel-drive.
What are a few of the Altima's features?
With five trim levels that are filled to the brim with features, the Nissan Altima is one of the most well-rounded sedans on the market. The base trim level is the S which comes with 16-inch steel wheels, a remote engine start, keyless entry, push-button ignition, cloth seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and a six-speaker audio system. Several features are available for the Driver Assist package, which has an eight-way adjustable driver's seat. The SV builds on this with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, intelligent ride control, intelligent trace control, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional premium package for the SV adds heated mirrors, a power sunroof, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. For more sporty features, the SR trim comes with 19-inch wheels, a sport suspension, and transmission paddle shifters. Next is the SL, which adds more advanced features such as foglights, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, NissanConnect connected services, and a traffic sign recognition system. Last but not least is the Platinum trim which rounds things out nicely with driver's seat memory settings, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, and a 360-degree camera system.
Is the Altima a safe vehicle?
You bet it is! Every trim level comes stacked with premium safety features that will keep you and your family safe as you hit the open road. On the base S trim, you get a forward collision warning that will alert you to a possible frontal collision and can even apply the brakes if you fail to do so.
