What is under the hood?

Under the hood of the Murano is a 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. The standard drivetrain is front-wheel drive with the option to switch to an intuitive all-wheel drive. A continuously variable transmission is also used to help save on the fuel economy which stands at 21 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. The fuel tank can hold 19 gallons and the maximum towing capacity is capped at 1,500 pounds.

What comes standard for safety and security?

The standard security features on the Nissan Murano includes a vehicle security system and a Nissan vehicle immobilizer system. The standard safety features expand quite a bit more with seat mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, vehicle dynamic control with traction, intelligent forward collision warning, dual-stage supplemental front airbags, active brake limited slip, automatic emergency braking, front and rear seat head restraints, an energy absorbing steering column, roof mounted supplemental airbags with rollover head protection, high strength steel side door guard beams, hood buckling creases, zone body construction, and a tire pressure monitoring system with display. Additional safety features can be found standard on upper level trims or within packages as well.

How does each trim add on to the previous?

The available trim levels are the S, SV, SL, and the Platinum. An additional Midnight Edition is also available. The base S trim comes with automatic headlights, Bluetooth, a USB and auxiliary audio jack, folding rear seats, cruise control, keyless entry and ignition, LED running lights, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Next is the SV with foglights, power-adjustable seats, remote engine start, roof rails, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Premium package is available at this level to add a panoramic sunroof, heated seats and mirrors, and multiple driver aids. The SL adds leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, ambient interior lighting, a hands-free liftgate, heated side mirrors, driver-seat memory settings, and a heated steering wheel. The final trim is the Platinum with features like heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering wheel, LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, power-folding rear seats, and many driving aids. The Midnight Edition would then stylize the SL with 20-inch wheels, blacked-out versions of roof rails, grille, mirror caps, sill plated, side moldings, and lower bumper accents.
